We’ve already seen the first glimpses of the new PlayStation controller, but here’s a helpful video explaining some of the finer details.

Are you excited for the release of the new PlayStation 4 at the end of this year? Well here are the lads from Sony to explain a little bit more about the latest DUALSHOCK controller…

In fairness, it looks pretty cool, but once again we see PlayStation pushing the ‘share’ button of their new controller like there’s no tomorrow.

The new controller will be able to detect exactly where you’re sitting in the room, so if you’re playing multiplayer and you pass your controller over to someone else on the opposite side of the room, the controller will recognise this and change the screen position accordingly – which is pretty cool.

The other major feature that’s never been seen on a PlayStation controller before is the touch pad. This will allow gamers to interact with the game like never before, so we’re assuming it’ll be a bit like playing on your smart phone – again, this should prove to be pretty cool.

However, like we said, the ‘share’ button seems to be PlayStation’s big selling point, so expect YouTube and Reddit to be loaded with video footage of 14-year-olds thinking they’ve made the most epic kill anyone on Call of Duty has ever seen, EVER…
