The future is here, and it’s a giant hologram of the Turkish Prime Minister
When we were promised things about the future, we were told that there would be jetpacks, hoverboards, hovercars, hovereverything and of course, holograms.
It seems that the last entry on that list is finally here (after several of our strongly-worded letters to NASA finally got through) as Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Turkish Prime Minister, delivered a speech to a party conference as a 10-foot tall hologram yesterday. Skip ahead to the 0:43 mark to see the whole thing happen.
The only other person we know who used holograms was of course Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars and we know that he was pure evil.
Now our Turkish is not so hot, but we’re sure that he’s telling the crowd that “I’m afraid the Death Star will be quite operational when your friends arrive”. Or else he’s asking for continued support throughout a difficult time where he has faced a lot of allegations of corruption, we’re not sure. There’s definitely something about the Sith in there though…
