You can now choose what happens to your Facebook after you die

A new development here

This move makes a lot of sense.

Facebook is here for the long term future, because that wily fox Mark Zuckerberg seems to have figured out the internet.

It’s becoming stronger and stronger each year as people use it as the place they find their news and as a place to chat to their friends.

The website has finally addressed an issue that’s been up in the air for a while – what happens a person’s Facebook account when they die?

A policy has been announced that allows you designate a “legacy contact,” who will be able to post announcements on a timeline after someone’s death.

The designated person won’t be able to read your private messages, but will be able to control your friend requests, profile and header photos.

However, if you want to avoid putting someone in that awkward position, you can opt to have the account deleted.

The option is currently only available to US users, it’s due to roll out to Ireland and the rest of the world at a later date.
