Experience farming and fun first-hand in the city at this new festival.

It’s hard to beat this time of year. There’s a welcome chill in the air, our pavements are dotted with some particularly colourful leaves and it feels like autumn has finally arrived.

Indeed, a fresh new season is here and to help you welcome it, Airfield Estate are pulling out all the stops with Urban Harvest Festival, an event that brings the revelry and pride of the Ploughing and rural shows to the city.

Urban Harvest Festival will take place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September on the sprawling grounds of Airfield Estate in Dundrum. As a taste of the country in the city as a 38-acre farm and gardens beside Dundrum Shopping Centre, Airfield is an ideal location for this new family fun event, which aims to diminish the urban/rural divide of communities while deepening understanding of Ireland’s rich farming culture.

So, what’s on the agenda at Urban Harvest Festival? Well, from the get-go, attendees will be immersed in Irish agricultural traditions. They’ll have the opportunity to take in some great displays, with sheep-shearing, wool spinning, hedge laying, butter making and sheep-dog demonstrations taking place throughout the weekend. Visitors will leave with a deeper understanding of the immense amount of work and skill involved in these trades. There is plenty for the kids with games, face painting, workshops, and puppet shows.

To top off this incredible agenda, there will be plenty of food to indulge in as you weave your way through the festival.

With so much to see, do and experience at Airfield Estate, Urban Harvest Festival is not to be missed. It runs from 9:30am – 6:30pm on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September. Airfield Estate is an educational charity and visitor attraction left in trust by the Overend family to the people of Ireland for recreation and education.

You can book your ticket right here and see the full line up. Tickets are priced between €8 and €15, which is equivalent to the price of a day ticket to Airfield Estate and children under 3 go free.
