Arsenal are interested in signing new Celtic midfielder Efrain Juarez, according to a report in today’s Irish Sun newspaper.
The paper report that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was impressed with Mexican midfielder and right back Juarez during the Emirates Cup recently and has asked Juarez’ compatriot and friend Carlos Vela about the player, who joined the Hoops from UMAM Pumas in July for €2.4million.
Juarez has played only four games for Neil Lennon’s side, but has made an instant impression at Celtic Park, scoring in each of Celtic’s home European ties – against Braga and FC Utrecht – already this season.
Juarez, 22, was a member of the Mexican squad at the World Cup and Wenger is said to be planning a move for the midfielder in January.
