Hangeland headed home a corner in injury time to earn a point for the Cottagers, while Andy Carroll scored a hattrick in a 6-0 win for Newcastle.

The Welshman made no mistake, and slotted it home from eight and a half yards. Fulham held on for 27 minutes, only for Man United’s second top scorer from 2009/2010 to equalise – own goal.
Pantsil’s clearance deflected off Brede Hageland and into his own net in the 84th minute. Two-minutes later, United had a chance to go two ahead, when Damien Duff was harshly adjudged to have handled the ball.
Nani stepped up to take the penalty, only for David Stockdale to pull off a decent save. United were punished for that miss when Brede Hangeland rose highest from a corner to head home in the 90th minute.
At St James Park, Newcastle pulled off the result of the weekend with an astonishing hammering of Aston Villa. Joey Barton scored the first in the 12th minute, Nolan scored twice and Andy Carroll netted a hattrick.
The result is a serious blow to Villains caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald’s chance of getting the job full-time.
