Celtic have completed the signing of Newcastle’s 6 ft 7 goalkeeper Fraser Forster on a year-long loan deal.
Forster was impressive in a loan spell with Norwich last season, and was named Norwich’s Player’s Player of the year.
He also picked up the Macron Golden Gloves Award for being the goalkeeper with the best clean sheet record in League One.
“He’s a big boy, he’s come highly recommended, I’ve watched him myself a couple of times,†said Celtic manager Neil Lennon.
“His age, 22, is the only thing going against him because otherwise he’s got all the qualities you look for in a goalkeeper.â€
Celtic had been linked with several goalkeepers throughout the summer, since the sale of Artur Boruc to Fiorentina, including Shay Given, Kieren Westwood, Jacobo, Julian Speroni, Timo Hildebrand and Dani Aranzubia.
Forster is Celtic’s tenth signing of the transfer window.
