We’re backing in-form Gareth Bale to continue his goalscoring form against Young Boys and an Irish raider to produce the goods at Ffos Las for today’s Daily Double.
Gordon Elliott sends his highly-rated 7-year-old RUSSIAN WAR to Ffos Las this afternoon in an attempt to bounce back from his bad day at the office last time out in Tipperary two weeks ago. Before that, on faster ground, he won handily at Bellewstown. Provided the ground remains favourable, he can sluice home in the 5.20.
Paul Carberry is in the plate yet again aboard the Irish raider and at 11/8, Russian War looks the pick of the bunch.
Last week we drastically underestimated Young Boys, when predicting that Tottenham Hotspur would ease to a 2-0 win over the Swiss side. Harry Redknapp will have learned his lesson, however, and despite the somewhat sleazy overtones evident in Redknapp’s promise to ‘swarm all over them’, we reckon Spurs will progress at White Hart Lane tonight.
Gareth Bale has been in outstanding form already this season and after two goals against Stoke at the weekend, including an absolutely stunning volley, he is bound to be buzzing heading into tonight’s tie. At 9/1, we reckon the young Welshman is great value to net the first goal of the night.
JOE’s Daily Double: Russian War (Ffos Las 5.20 @ 11/8) and Gareth Bale to score the first goal in the Champions League clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Young Boys @ 9/1.
