Republic of Ireland striker Andy Keogh is set to join Cardiff City on a season-long loan.
The 24-year old has yet to appear for Wolves this season, with compatriot Kevin Doyle, Steven Fletcher and Sylvain Ebanks-Blake ahead of him in the pecking order of strikers at Molineux.
Keogh was left out of Wolves’ squad for the Carling Cup tie with Southend on Tuesday night to avoid being cup-tied and will hope to aid the Bluebirds’ push for promotion from the Championship.
“It is a racing certainty that Andy will be going to Cardiff, Wolves manager Mick McCarthy told the club’s official website.
“Andy has been fabulous here both for me and this football club.
“It is a good move for him to go to Cardiff and good luck to him.
“He wants to play football and he doesn’t want to be fourth in line here which I can fully understand.â€
Keogh will join fellow Cardiff signings Craig Bellamy, Seyi Olofinjana, Danny Drinkwater, Jason Koumas, Lee Naylor and Tom Heaton in south Wales.
Keogh has scored 49 goals in 180 competitive appearances for Leeds, Scunthorpe, Bury and Wolves and one goal in 14 appearances for the Republic of Ireland.
