Val Andrews and Terry Hyland were named as joint managers of the Cavan senior football team following a meeting of the County Board on Thursday night.
The pair were handed a three-year term with a review after the second year and succeed Tommy Carr, who served as manager of the Breffni County for the last three years.
It is the second time that Andrews will be in charge of Cavan, having managed the county from 1999-2001. Andrews subsequently managed Louth for a two-year spell and also spent time in charge of the Leinster inter-provincial team.
Hyland served as a selector under Andrews when he last managed the county and guided the Cavan under-21 and junior sides to provincial finals this year. Andrews and Hyland were nominated by the Lacken and Cavan Gaels clubs and received unanimous support from club delegates present at the meeting.
