Australian triple Olympic gold medallist Stephanie Rice has been dropped from her sponsorship deal with luxury carmaker Jaguar after posting a homophobic remark on Twitter while watching a Tri-Nations rugby match.
Jaguar announced it had scrapped its sponsorship deal with the 22-year-old Rice and even ordered the swimmer to return her XF sports car, worth over €70,000. Rice had been celebrating a last-gasp win for Australia over South Africa in a Tri-Nations match over the weekend when she emphatically tweeted:
‘Suck on that f****ts”
Hmm, not the most eloquent turn of phrase. We certainly don’t support Rice’s comment so rather than linking you to her Twitter accunt, we’ve instead decided to send on a link to follow Jaguar here.
