Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Jermain Defoe when the transfer window reopens in January.
Officials from the club are said to have been monitoring Defoe’s performances for some time and were particularly impressed with his display for England against Bulgaria last Friday evening, in which Defoe netted a hat-trick at Wembley.
According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Juventus are weighing up a bid for the striker in January and have transfer funds available after selling Brazilian midfielder Diego to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and striker David Trezeguet to Spanish side Hércules.
Defoe is reported to happy at White Hart Lane, but representatives from Juventus remain hopeful that their status as one of the biggest clubs in Europe might persuade the 27-year old to make a move.
