Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a move for Newcastle United’s 21-year-old striker Andy Carroll in a swap deal with Robbie Keane, according to reports.
Chris Hughton made an approach for Robbie Keane before the end of the transfer window, and Harry Redknapp used that as an opportunity to enquire about the availability of Andy Carroll.
Tottenham are considering a change of formation, and Redknapp believes Carroll would work better playing up front on his own than his current options.
The 21-year-old has started the new Premier League season in flying form, scoring four goals in four games.
Redknapp’s approach was rebuffed, but he is apparently planning to make an approach for Carroll in January, and is willing to offer Robbie Keane plus £6 million.
