We’re putting our faith in a filly at Lingfield and Wayne Rooney to cast off the shackles for today’s Daily Double.

The Simon Dow trained OUT OF A STORM has decent claims in Lingfield`s opener at 2.20pm. Although the Elmhurst Boy filly has ruined her chances with sluggish exits from the stalls in previous races, she has still been performing well. Today’s contest looks a weak event and she should go very close to breaking her maiden tag with the in-form Seb Sanders booked for the ride.
Take Out of a storm to triumph at 7/2.
It’s been dubbed the ‘Battle of Britain’, but given the gulf in class that has developed between the Premier League and its Scottish counterpart in recent years; this evening’s Champions League clash between Manchester United and Rangers at Old Trafford is more likely to resemble surrender rather than a battle.
The bookies odds reflect such a viewpoint, with 16/1 available for a Rangers win. Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that Wayne Rooney is certain to play after excluding him from the starting line-up against Everton on Saturday and we think the troubled striker will be eager to make an impression amidst the troubles in his personal life.
Rooney is 5/2 to get the first goal, but if you want to push the boat out a bit, try Rooney to score first in a 3-0 scoreline at 14/1.
JOE’s Daily Double: Out of a Storm (Lingfield, 2.20 @ 7/2) and Wayne Rooney to score first in a 3-0 victory for Manchester United @ 14/1.
