Manchester United v Rangers (kick-off 7.45pm). All the action from the matchday one Group C fixture at Old Trafford, where the three-time European champions entertain the Scottish title-holders. The only previous competitive meeting between the sides came at this stage of the 2003/04 Champions League campaign, when the Red Devils won 1-0 at Ibrox and 3-0 here. The Gers are likely to have their work cut out once more, as they failed to progress from their group last term, while the elimination of Alex Ferguson’s men by Bayern Munich at the quarter-final stage represented their least successful showing in this competition since failing to reach the knockout rounds in 2005/06 season.
