For Friday’s Daily Double, we’re tipping a very Irish-sounding horse to triumph at Listowel and Andrew Trimble to mark his return to action with a try for Ulster.

It’s day six of the Listowel Harvest festival and we like the look of a Jim Bolger Trained gelding in the 4.00 Printing Works maiden.

STEPHEN’S GREEN has shown well in his two outings to date at Leopardstown and Fairyhouse and has plenty of scope for improvement over a mile and four furlongs in an 18-strong field. Assuming he can handle the softer the ground at the Kerry track, Stephen’s Green has a good chance of coming home with Kevin Manning on board.

Take Stephen’s Green to win at 11/4.

Ulster take on Edinburgh in the Magners League this evening looking to make it three wins from three in what has been an excellent start to the season for Brian McLaughlin’s side. Irish international winger Andrew Trimble returns to the starting line-up having made a quicker than expected recovery from a finger injury sustained during Ireland’s summer tour of the southern hemisphere.

Trimble was arguably Ireland’s outstanding performer in the games against New Zealand and Australia and we have a feeling he will carry his good form into this season and into this evening’s clash at Ravenhill.

Trimble is 6/4 to score a try at any stage during the 80 minutes, but for a little more value, take a chance on him scoring the first try of the evening at 9/1.

JOE’s Daily Double: Stephen’s Green (Listowel, 4.00 @ 11/4) and Andrew Trimble to score the first try in the Magners League clash between Ulster and Edinburgh at 9/1.
