FMyLife.com is one of those website that sucks you in and keeps you glued to the screen for longer than anticipated. Some of the cringeworthy stories could have you saying FML out loud. If you’ve some American blood in your body, that is…
FMyLife.com sounds like a bit of a downer we will agree but it’s sure to keep you smiling. So what exactly is it we hear you say? Well, it’s a micro blog that does exactly what it says on the tin. Users post their cringeworthy stories in a Twitter-like fashion to a wall updated daily with new stories.
Some of the stories are less harrowing than being told you have to wait a few minutes for fresh fries in McDonald’s, while others will make you want to cry, scream and laugh. But in the best possible ways of course.
The best explanation of the website is located right there on the site itself. It reads: Fmylife.com contains a daily dose of short anecdotes, based on a simple recipe: in a few sentences, users can tell everyone the sh*tty moment that ruined their day.
As an example here are just two of the thousands of stories posted on the website since 2008:
Today, I came home to find a sock I previously used to whack off on my bed with googly eyes and a mouth drawn on it with a note that read “Because you can’t find a real girl, I made your current one prettier, Love Mom.” FML
Today, I saw an elderly man fall in a crosswalk, so I jumped off my bike to help. As I helped him across, the light turned green. I then watched across a 6 lane street as someone stole my bike. FML
If you’re one of those people who easily gets embarrassed at other people’s misfortune, then this one might not be the site for you. We’d also advise you to read the stories aloud when the kids are out of the room as some of them can be a bit ‘X’ rated.
For everyone else though it’s a ‘site and a half’ to waste time on. Its popularity is huge and many of the comments have over half a million ‘likes’. Or ‘I agree, your life sucks’, as they’re called on FMyLife.com.
