Police in the US are saying that a man in North Carolina insisted his $1,000,000 bill was legit as he tried to buy goods from a supermarket.

Michael Fuller, 53, attempted to buy a vacuum cleaner, a microwave oven and a few other random items worth $476 from Wal-Mart. But when he was asked if he was paying cash or card he whipped out the infamous million-dollar bill.

Store employees then called the police to come and investigate the incident after Fuller strongly insisted that the bill was real.

Funny that, as the largest bill in circulation is a measly $100, unless you’re counting Mr Burns’ Trillion Dollar bill of course.

According to AP the largest bill ever to be in circulation was the $10,000 bill which the US government stopped making in 1969.

Fuller was charged with attempting to obtain property under false pretences and for also trying to use a ‘forged instrument’. He is in jail on a $17,500 bond, and it isn’t clear if he has an attorney, but he should be able to afford a pretty descent one.

Or the guy below.
