At first glance, the car in the video above looks as if it was expertly parked on the roof a house. Turns out it happened completely by accident.
Police in Fresno, California came upon the bizarre sight of a car perfectly placed on the roof of an apartment building after receiving a call from residents in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The family inside were risen by smoke and falling debris from the roof after a man driving a stolen car hit a curb and sent the vehicle flying onto the roof of the building before fleeing the scene, obviously hoping that nobody would notice.
26-year old Benjamin Tucker suffered no injuries in the crash, but in a cruel ironic twist, managed to break his leg while climbing down from the roof and he was later found a few hundred yards down the road hobbling away from the scene of the crime.
Tucker had far from a clean slate (that will be the only roof pun, promise) having already had two warrants out for his arrest, for hit and run and for evading a police officer.
The car was eventually removed by a special crane before it fell off and did further damage and the apartment building itself survived relatively unscathed, sustaining only minor damage to the roof.
It’s certainly one of the more bizarre crime stories we’ve ever come across and has to be seen to be believed. Check out the video above and enjoy.
