Well, the Tebow craze had to come to an end sometime. Tom Brady reminded the God-loving Denver Broncos quarter-back who’s boss in a comfortable victory for the New England Patriots last night.
Patriots 45-10 Broncos
Brady was the star man, throwing six touchdown passes in total with the pick of the bunch being this beauty to Deion Branch.
Tebow cut a forlorn figure throughout and his stats paled in comparison to his opposite number, as he managed just 136 yards to Brady’s 509.
In fact, Brady’s figures were perhaps given more credence by a tweet doing the rounds after the game last night which read: “Tom Brady vs Broncos – 363 yards, 6 TDs and one 48-yard punt. And now he goes home to Gisele. B*stard!”
Hard to argue with that.
49ers 36-32 Saints
The Patriots Broncos clash might have failed to live up to expectations, but in terms of entertainment and drama, the earlier encounter between the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints more than made up for it.
In an absolutely thrilling finale, the lead changed hands four times in the last four minutes, before the 49ers claimed a dramatic victory when Alex Smith threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Vernon Davis with only 14 seconds left on the clock.
