Leinster and Ireland rugby star Jamie Heaslip was the victim of a vicious prank this morning and we’ve a sneaking suspicion his old mucker Cian Healy was the man responsible.
Heaslip posted a picture on Twitter this morning of his Land Rover covered in shrink wrap, accompanied by the message: “Looks like I’ll be using the bike today. @ProperChurch let’s be having ye.”

Heaslip’s followers began to speculate over who might be responsible and it soon became clear that all fingers were pointed squarely at the man known as Proper Church.
There are a number of reasons to suggest that Healy was the man behind the admittedly hilarious prank.
For one, he posted a tweet last night in which he suggested he was in the mood for devilment, saying: “day off tomorro, I’m in need of some mischievous behavior right now! a cheeky prank or 2 maybe,.. hmmm #Thinkingcapison….
Secondly, Heaslip was the architect of a prank on FM 104’s Strawberry Alarm Clock late last year which saw Healy humiliated by Jim Jim Nugent, who attempted to sign him up for a ridiculous ad campaign and ruffled a few of the Irish prop’s feathers in the process.
At the time of writing, Healy has been keeping suspicously quiet and has had nothing to say on the matter on his Twitter page, obviously choosing to adopt the silent assassin approach.
Speaking on the Ray D’Arcy show this morning, Heaslip revealed that although he couldn’t confirm the identity of the prankster, he was pretty sure it was Healy and would confirm as much when he reviews the cameras monitoring the outside of his house later on today.
The number eight has promised sweet revenge, so it looks as if this battle of the pranksters could roll on for some time yet.
