Valencia midfielder Ever Banega will undergo surgery on one of his ankles after he had a bit of a mishap… with a parked car.
The incident only happened this afternoon after Banega had left the team’s training session and made his way home.
Reports suggest that he could be out of action for a few weeks, however, Valencia did not say exactly how long Banega would be side lined – although the 23-year-old will definitely miss Sunday’s Spanish league match away to Barcelona.
So how did this all happen? Well, according to Spanish media, Banega forgot to apply the hand brake to his car as he filled it with petrol… and it rolled over his foot. Genius.
As a result of the incident, Banega now has to get surgery on his ankle, miss a few weeks work and he will also be compared to Brian Harvey for the rest of his career. You know, the guy from East-17?
