Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher has commented on how he can’t wait to come to Ireland with his boys so that they can throw stuff at cows, like he did back in the day.
Apparently, they “don’t have cows in Manchester”, but that’s according to Noel Gallagher of Oasis fame. So according to the man himself, when he went to stay with his grandmother from Co. Mayo as a child, he would throw stuff at the alien bovine creatures – sure, what else would you do with them?
The Wonderwall singer recently told reporters of his Irish holiday antics as a child and how he intends to bring his kids over for a taste of the old country, reports Orange News.
He said, “At my grandma’s in Mayo, we’d run around throwing stuff at cows. See, we don’t get cows in Manchester, so if you see one you just throw stuff at them. I’m looking forward to bringing my sons over so they can throw stuff at cows as well.”
However, his cow chucking comments have upset a few people from (no prises for guessing) PETA. Officials at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, have kicked up a storm suggesting that the musician needs a few “empathy” tips. Someone has told them it’s Noel Gallagher they’re dealing with, right?
A spokesman for PETA said, “A father whose idea of a family vacation includes traumatising animals who are minding their own business should undergo empathy counselling.”
His ongoing feud with brother Liam might not force him to see the error of his ways but surely a stern email from PETA will. Here’s to hoping anyway.
