A German man in the town of Straubing was found handing out wads of money to anyone who would take it just so his ex-wife wouldn’t get her paws on it…
According to reports from TheLocal.de, the bloke in question was a 49-year-old man “with a Bavarian accent,” and his reasons for handing out the free cash were simply because he didn’t feel like paying his ex-wife the money.
It’s believed that the scorn hubby handed out around €1000 outside a bank and told people he’d rather they had the money than having to hand it over to his ex in alimony payments.
Some of the lucky locals who managed to bag the free cash actually took it to the police, according to Orange News, as they feared the money was forged or stolen. There is no such thing as free money, right? Wrong.
A police spokesman cleared things up by saying, “We can’t find any evidence of a crime.”
Although we don’t know what went down between the estranged couple, you have to admire the man’s thinking. Absolute legend.
