According to a new survey, most dads just want to relax this Sunday without the kids running around causing havoc.

This morning’s Irish Daily Star reports that 80 per cent of fathers would like to get away from their kids this Father’s Day and instead they would prefer to head away for a nice break. Does this sound like you?

Around 55 per cent of 1,000 dads surveyed said being able to head off with the lads for a weekend away would be the ideal gift for Father’s Day.

Only 23 per cent of blokes who were asked said they’d love a trip away with the missus, while a measly 2 per cent of dads said a break away with the family was the perfect present.

It looks like dads these days would prefer pretty much anything other than going away on a family holiday.

While 2 per cent of dads said a trip away with the family was what they wanted, 6 per cent said they’d like a new golf club and 14 per cent said a new shirt. Some of the dads questioned probably forgot they even had kids.

The survey was conducted by the budget airline Ryanair who are flogging off Father’s Day travel vouchers over on their website up until midnight on Sunday. So if you’re stuck for a gift, you know where to get one at the last minute.
