If you have any plans made for the weekend then may we suggest you bring a brolly with you, and a spare set of clothes – just in case.
It’s going to be a wet and wild weekend and we certainly don’t envy anyone who is heading off for a festival this weekend. Now, you may be fooled into thinking it’s summer – which it is – but you wouldn’t think so hearing that we’re expecting rain for the next three days (at least).
Today we’ll see widespread heavy and thundery downpours that will affect pretty much the whole of the country. We could also be in with a bit of spot flooding in certain low-lying places. It will be worst in the north and west and temperatures will be up to a maximum of around 17C.
Friday and Saturday look to be pretty miserable with heavy rain expected for both days and top temperatures reaching 14C to 18C.
Sunday should clear up a bit with only scattered showers expected, while Monday should be a glorious sunny day and Met Éireann reports that temperatures could reach as high as 21C. However, us Irish tend to jump the gun when it comes to good weather, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
