Liverpool player Adam Morgan may never score a better goal in his career after hitting the net with a 45-yard effort for Liverpool U-21’s tonight.
Manchester City were on the receiving end of a 2-0 defeat but it was the strike by Morgan that will be remembered most as he caught City goalkeeper Ian Lawlor out, though his starting position was only on the penalty spot and there seemed to be little sign of danger when the Red’s player picked up the ball.
The England youth international must have been keeping a close eye on former Kop hero Xabi Alonso who also managed a couple of long range screamers in his time on Merseyside.
Morgan was a handful for Patrick Vieira’s U-21 side throughout the contest but the goal was a real collectors item.
