Skoda have today launched their all new Skoda Citigo here in Ireland and you can see it above… once you get past the tasty blondes, that is.
Skoda, the Czech car manufacturers, have decided to break into the small car market over here in Ireland, which is a good idea seeing as our cities are riddled with tight parking spots and twisting back streets.
Retailing from under €10,000, the Citigo is currently available for test drive at Skoda dealerships nationwide, so just pop by and ask for a spin.
The Citigo is available in 3 and 5-door alternatives with two petrol engine options including 1.0 Litre 60bhp and 75bhp power units with fuel economy from 4.5l/100km. Road Tax falls into Band-A thanks to emissions of just 105g/km, so you’ll be saving a bit of extra cash… and the polar bears too.
Manual transmissions are generally the norm in this small car segment, however, Skoda is confident that they can grow sales with their new automatic transmission.
For just €750 extra customers can avail of their new ASG 5-speed automatic transmission that also has the benefit of sequential gear changing. So if changing gears by hand isn’t your thing you can have the car do it for you for just €750 extra. In fairness, life behind the wheel is made a tad more comfortable when you have an automatic gearbox.
And in case you’re wondering, yes it does look a bit like the VW up! to us.
