Tired of people speeding down your estate to beat traffic? It’s time for some DIY

A family over in the UK was fed-up with people using their quiet residential street as a short cut into town, so they decided to take measures into their own hands…

Have you ever had to call out the council to get something fixed in your area? If so, you’ll know about all the red tape and feckin’ about that often goes on, which generally sees your problem being fixed a few weeks later – or months later for that matter.

Well, one family over in the UK was so fed up with waiting for something to be done that they installed their own speed bumps on the street outside their home.

The Van Epps family from Northampton finally said enough was enough when it was revealed that over 1000 cars passed their residential street every single day.

“It’s scary,” said Tim Van Epps, who has three young children. “God forbid a ball rolled out in the road. It got to the point where my wife and I really needed to take action before something happened.”

Instead of waiting around for the council to place speed bumps down, the Van Epps paid £3,000 of their own hard earned money to have the work done themselves – how nice.

It just goes to show that if you want something done you just have to do it yourself.
