Thanks to Newstalk’s Ken Early, we now know somebody tried to bring something very odd into the Olympic Press Area.

The Olympics are tiring as a spectator. Sixteen hour days are the norm and between TV, online, Twitter and even good old-fashioned radio, it is a mammoth task just to watch the bloody thing.

Writing about it, especially for those there, is even more arduous. Queues, accreditation and deadlines are just the half of it so we should all spare a thought for the men and women of sports journalism working their laptops off for us back home.

One of those hard-working hacks is Off The Ball’s Ken Early and Ken was able to inform us on Twitter today about some of the things that the security guards at the Olympic Press Centre had taken from the working journalists in London.

It sounds like security there is on par with the airport so things like scissors, deodorant and forks have been handed over. Still, can you spot the one item Ken spotted that sounds a little odd in this list?
