Here we have one of the coolest DIY projects we’ve ever seen and it allows someone to type with just one hand. Handy that…
If you’ve ever found typing with two hands to be a bit of a challenge (sometimes you just need one free hand, ahem) or typing with two hands is impossible due to a disability, then you should check out the G.A.U.N.T.L.E.T.
But what is it? Technically speaking it’s a generally accessible universal nomadic tactile low-power electronic typist. Or a keyboard glove to you and me. The project is still in its beta stages, however, as you can see from the video it works a treat.
The idea behind the glove is that it will hopefully allow a person to type on any smartphone or computer with one hand, opening up interesting possibilities for people with disabilities.
The creator, Jiake Liu, embroidered electrically conductive letters to send signals to the glove and they send their message to the phone or computer via Bluetooth. It’s certainly one cool DIY creation. It’s just a pity Michael Jackson isn’t around to see it.
