As a petrol head, you’ll know that when nitrous oxide is added to the mix it usually results in some form of fast paced hooning – except when it results in a massive explosion.
Here we have a video, albeit grainy, of two Mustangs preparing to have a little drag race on an open street. The car that we first see lining up in the video is a gorgeous Ford Mustang that we can safely place in the 2010-2012 region. Thankfully, that Mustang escapes unscathed… unlike the cameraman’s car.
It too was a Mustang, however, now it’s just an old pile of rust as the driver was unlucky enough to experience a nitrous blowout. See kids, nitrous isn’t all that its cracked up to be.
We can’t really see the explosion in real time, but you can clearly see the destruction that’s caused afterwards. The blast was so powerful that it blew the top half of the intake manifold straight through the bonnet and it also popped the Mustang logo out of it’s holder.
So just remember this video the next time you’re trying to secure a few tanks of NOS to the underside of the passenger seat.
