Do you like computers? Do you enjoy 80’s fashion? Or are you just a bit of a nerd? If you’ve answered yes to any of these then you’re sure to enjoy this old school Apple advert.
There’s nothing like wiping off the dust and cobwebs from an old, unmarked, half used VHS (tape) and unearthing what has been secured on it’s film for all those years.
You could be lucky and see a younger, happier you running around like there’s no tomorrow. Or you could be unlucky and uncover a forgotten sex tape your awl lad swore he had stowed away for a rainy day.
Thankfully, the lads over at Apple didn’t uncover the latter and instead they came across this previously unaired 1983 advert for the original Macintosh operating system.
It was posted on YouTube by Andy Hertzfeld, who designed much of the Mac user interface back in the day (that’s him in the red top).
He describes the video as “Snippets from interviews with members of the original Macintosh design team, recorded in October 1983 for projected TV commercials that were never used. Featuring Burrell Smith, Andy Hertzfeld, George Crow, Bill Atkinson and Mike Murray.”
We’re not sure why he’s decided to release it now, but according to Andy, it wasn’t used in the first place because Apple thought the advert was too ‘self-congratulatory’.
