Hurricane season is in full swing and it’s causing a bit of a storm over in the US – literally – but it’s also causing all this good weather we’re having here in Ireland.
While the south east of America is recovering after Hurricane Isaac, the whole of Ireland is currently soaking up the rays as we’re being hit with glorious sunshine and temperatures between 22C and 23C.
The good weather comes following one of the wettest Augusts in the past 15 years, one of the coolest Julys in up to 24 years and the wettest June that anyone in living memory can remember. So it’s about bloody time we got some sun!
It’s all down to an active hurricane season that’s currently taking place in the Atlantic. Instead of crappy wet weather making it’s way up the Atlantic towards Ireland, it’s instead mixing in with all the turbulent hurricane conditions and making it’s way elsewhere.
So, when will we be back to the usual dismal rain, sleet and possibly snow? Well, not for the rest of the week, according to Met Éireann. The warm dry weather is expected to last right up until the weekend. However, be warned: there will be some light showers along the west coast of the country throughout the week.
As for the rest of you… enjoy it while it lasts.
