If you’re going to propose to the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with then we would advise that you don’t do what this guy did… unless you enjoy scaring the sh*t out of your missus, that is.
Not contempt with dropping to one knee and asking ‘will you marry me’, Alexey Bykov from Russia (oh, but of course) decided to do something his girlfriend would remember for a long time. A very, very long time.
The 30-year-old hired a movie director, stuntmen, make-up artists, and even a scriptwriter in order to stage a fake car crash for the proposal. He then made plans to meet up with his girlfriend Irena at the crash site. When she arrived, Alexey was dead, or so she thought.
“We’d arranged to meet at a certain place but when I arrived there were mangled cars everywhere, ambulances, smoke, and carnage,” said Irena.
“Then when I saw Alexy covered in blood lying in the road a paramedic told me he was dead and I just broke down in tears”.

So, Alexey must be some sort of extravagant, surprise-loving Romeo who was just looking for a way to surprise the love of his life in a fairly unique way, right? Eh, well, this is what he had to say:
“I wanted her to realise how empty her life would be without me and how life would have no meaning without me.
“I think it worked but I promise it’s the last time,” he said.
