If you know anything about computers (or how to ship/sell them) and you’re currently sitting on your hole watching your fifth episode of Jeremy Kyle, then you’re sure to love this…

Computers giant Microsoft has revealed that it will create more than 100 new jobs in areas such as development, operations, supply chain and sales. So at least there’s something there for everyone.

Speaking about the new opportunities that will be showcased at this year’s Career Zoo, Joe French, HR director, Microsoft Ireland, said: “At a time of high unemployment the technology sector continues to offer great opportunities for people with the right skills – or for those with the capacity and commitment to acquire those skills.

“As an industry we have a responsibility to ensure that we communicate the possibilities of a career in IT – and of the rewards that a career in IT in Ireland can deliver.

“It is critical for Ireland’s future economic stability that we showcase the employment opportunities available right now and seek to retain our bright, young people who have the skills that are badly needed in the country right now.”

The Career Zoo takes place in the Convention Centre, Dublin, on Saturday September 22. You can find out more about it here.

So, if you already have the skills then great! If not, you’d want to get yourself into a night course fairly sharpish.
