The Australian V8 Supercars’ championship is one of the meanest, petrol fuelled events on the planet and this video shows you why…
The single most anticipated moment in Formula 1 is always the first corner. Why? Because nine times out of ten there’s a spectacular crash that alters the rest of the race. However, in Australia, they don’t bother waiting for the first corner to crash. Instead, they do it from the word ‘go’.
At the weekend’s Surfers Paradise 600 at Australia’s Gold Coast, IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe stalled his car, which bogged down fellow driver Michael Caruso causing a multi-car pile-up. The resulting crash saw Hinchcliffe’s teammate Ricky Taylor being flipped upside down with only 100 meters of the race completed. Talk about unlucky.
There’s a lot going on in the video, but keep your eyes on the driver starting in 4th position and keep an eye on the back of the field.
It’s a pretty nasty looking crash and it just goes to show anything can happen in a straight line. Especially if you’re racing in Australia…
