Golfers are usually a reserved bunch of people, but once in a while they all suffer from a ‘Happy Gilmore’ moment. Sadly for Mark Wiebe, his ‘Happy’ moment happened last week on live TV.
At the weekend’s Champions Tour’s AT&T Championship at TPC San Antonio, Mark Wiebe was playing a solid round of golf. However, it all went belly up on one hole after the ball refused to go into its home (Happy Gilmore reference).
Sadly for Wiebe after scoring two bogeys in a row he burst out into a curse word-laden frenzy, which was all picked up by the Golf Channel’s mics. Despite his on course breakdown, Wiebe managed to finish the round one-under par, so it wasn’t a total waste of a day.
