Would you help out in a medical emergency? Say someone passed out in front of you? Well according to a new survey, you probably wouldn’t.

According to a new survey by the Irish Red Cross, most Irish people wouldn’t help out in an emergency situation over fears that their good deed might cost them.

The poll found that a surprising 95 per cent of people wouldn’t try to help, even if they had the appropriate training. Another main reason cited for not helping out was ‘the lack of practice’.

The Red Cross says all secondary schools should have a first-aid training course and also that it you should have to pass a first-aid course before you get your drivers licence.

In fairness, you’re required to pass a first aid test before you get your drivers licence in many European countries, so why not here?

So would you help out in an emergency situation? If not, let us know why below.
