Rumour has it that Bruce Springsteen might be playing at Thomond Park next summer. However, we’ll be taking the news with a pinch of salt.

According to a report in today’s Limerick Leader, the all-American rocker Bruce Springsteen, better known as ‘The Boss’ to his loyal fans, could be gearing up for a concert in Limerick’s Thomond Park, home of Munster Rugby.

Apparently, meetings between concert promoters Aiken Promotions and managers from Thomond Park have been taking place. The paper also reports that officials have even been out “measuring the pitch for the specifications of Springsteen’s massive show”.

Now, this is great news for Springsteen fans, but it should be taken with a pinch of salt, because management at the stadium have declined to make any comment.

The speculation is that the official announcement will be made some time before Christmas, but like everything else to do with this story… it’s all rumours. So we’ll just have to wait and hope.
