Rock history was made last night when four of rock’s greatest musicians got together to raise money for Hurricane Sandy victims. Here’s what went down…

Last night’s Hurricane Sandy benefit concert saw the rock legend that is Paul McCartney teaming up with the surviving members of the 90’s grunge band Nirvana. In the clip above you’ll see McCartney teaming up with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear (who joined Nirvana just before Kurt’s suicide in 1994) as they tear up the stage at Madison Square Garden.

It’s easy enough to tell that all four musicians had a great time on stage as they blended together quite well while preforming the track ‘Cut Me Some Slack’ and Dave Grohl was right at home behind the drum kit whipping his hair back and forth like it was 1992.

It was hoped that last night’s concert would be viewed by 2 billion people worldwide and while that might have been a seemingly impossible target to reach, those that tuned in were certainly treated to a spectacular show.
