We didn’t have a white Christmas last year, but it looks like we could get a light covering of snow by the weekend.
Were you glad that it didn’t freeze over December? We certainly were, but we haven’t avoided the snow just yet. According to weather forecasters the north and the east of the country could be hit by snow over the weekend as freezing temperatures continue to chill the country.
Met Éireann predicts that outbreaks of rain will develop along the west coast during late Sunday morning and some of that rain will fall as sleet and snow on higher ground as it spreads eastwards later in the day on Sunday night. They’re also predicting another cold night with lows of 0 to 3 degrees.
So make sure to wrap up warm if you’re heading out anywhere this weekend, and keep an eye out for frosty conditions if you’re driving or walking on un-gritted paths. You could end up slipping on the Six-One News…
