A terrible accident this morning claimed the lives of two people after a small helicopter hit a crane on a tower block and plummeted down on top of rush hour traffic in London.
Reports this morning said that only the pilot was on board the chopper at the time of the incident, however, it’s now been revealed that there was also a passenger on board.
The helicopter exploded into flames after the initial impact near the River Thames at Vauxhall, and debris and aviation fuel fell down on top of rush hour traffic. According to Scotland Yard, two people have been taken to hospital as a result.
Officials are now worried about the state of the crane that still sits above St George’s Wharf development and the London Fire Brigade said it is now “in a precarious position”
We know there are a fair few Irish men and women over in London at the moment – you probably know at least one personally – so make sure to check in with them if you’re worried.
