Video: This is why you need to know your limits when bench pressing

We’re sure a lot of you have been hitting up the gym trying to stick to your New Year’s resolutions, but working out can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing.

This video is a really good example as to why you should only bench press what you know you can, unless there’s someone else there to help if things go wrong. Seeing as we’re all buff-as-sh*t lifting machines here at JOE, ahem, we’re guessing that this lad was trying to lift over 100kg – that’s judging by the weights he has on the bar.

Lifting the bar off the rails is no problem for the lad, but getting the bar off his chest proves to be a little harder than he obviously imagined. He quickly realises that he’s stuck and starts screaming out for his Dad to come and help, however, his screams can’t be heard down in his homemade basement gym.

It actually gets a bit worrying and you can sense the lad knows that this could be his last lift. Thankfully he manages to wriggle free, but only after two minutes of being trapped under the heavy bar.

Why anyone would upload this to the internet is beyond us.
