Did you hear about the gaff party in Swords that got a little out of hand over the weekend? Well, according to reports, around 700 people showed up uninvited causing thousands of euro in damage.

Social media is great, but it’s also got its downsides. While inviting your friends to a house party on Facebook might take out the hassle of inviting them individually, it does leave you open for inviting one or two (or 700) people you might not necessarily have invited in person.

That’s exactly what happened to one young lad in Swords over the weekend. According to various people on Twitter, the lad in question is no older than 15 and he invited a few close friends to a house party, but word got out on Facebook and roughly 700 people showed up. Needless to say, some stuff was broken.

Apparently, the uninvited revellers managed to “break off and steal” the front door to his house, but not before dismantling the banisters.

We’re sure his parents won’t be the slightest bit happy about what went down, not to mention the neighbours, but at least he’ll know better the next time he invites people to a party via Facebook.

Alternatively, he could feel like the lad below right now.
