CCTV footage has been released showing the moment a woman fell onto train tracks in Spain just as a train was coming into the station.
At the end of last year we heard the harrowing story – and saw the distressing image – of a man who was pushed in front of a New York subway train just as it came to the platform.
Well, one 52-year-old Spanish woman had a similar experience yesterday, after she fainted and fell onto the tracks at Madrid’s Marques de Vadilla metro station.
Luck was definitely on her side as people standing on the platform managed to catch the oncoming driver’s attention, which made him stop the train. There was also a 38-year-old off-duty policeman who sprung into action and pulled the woman off the tracks as soon as he heard her hitting the ground.
A doctor, who just happened to be at the station at the time of the incident, then attended to the woman. Like we said, luck was definitely on her side yesterday.
