With Jonny Sexton about to make the move to France (it’s not official yet but… ) his Leinster and Ireland colleague Brian O’Driscoll took the chance to take the piss on Twitter.
Just hours after the news broke that Jonny Sexton was leaving Leinster to join Racing Metro on Friday, team-mate Cian Healy was quick to have a laugh about it, touting the excellence of back-up Ian Madigan.
Now another one of Sexton’s team-mates has joined in, and in equally good-humoured fashion too. BOD was out and about yesterday and spotted one cafe’s desperate bid to persuade the Irish out-half to stay put with some free coffee.
However, as the Irish rugby legend pointed out, if reports on his salary are correct, the last thing that Sexton needs is freebies.
While most Irish rugby fans, and the IRFU, continue to come to term with the news, it is good to see that his Leinster team-mates are taking it in their stride.
