Video: If it’s your first attempt at a ski jump, you’re gonna have a bad time

This poor 11-year-old kid was out skiing with his dad, when he finally built up the courage to tackle a ski jump. Sadly, it didn’t quite go to plan.

The kid takes off fine, but he obviously misjudged the jump and ended up landing short, hitting the crest and knocking his skis off in the process. He then does a somersault and lands the opposite side of the jump. According to his dad he walked away from it without any serious injury.

Maybe he didn’t take the advice from the ski instructor, Thumper, in South Park who said, “Look straight ahead when you ski; you look down, you’ll fall, you’re gonna have a bad time…”

At least the kid tried it and as we said, practice makes perfect.
