We don’t think we can say it any better than how 98FM’s Louise Byrne says here.
In Dundalk today the funeral took place of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe. The 41-year-old was shot dead on Friday night by a gang who were in the process of robbing Lordship Credit Union.
The President, Taoiseach and some of the Cabinet were in attendance today at St Joseph’s Redemptorist Church but the Garda presence for one of their fallen colleagues was the most moving sight on a incredibly sad day.
This picture, posted by 98FM crime correspondent @LouiseByrne98FM, shows the estimated 2,500 uniformed Gardai at the funeral.

A great, and very sad, image.
