South African police are currently looking to speak to a professional skateboarder who set off a speed trap while doing 110kph in a 60kph zone. Gnarly

Decio Lourenco, 24, is the pro skateboarder in question and in the video above, which is aptly titled ‘Spoofing the Traffic Camera’, he can be seen tearing down Kloof Nek Road in Cape Town at speeds of 110kph. His top speed was recorded thanks to a GPS device strapped to his foot.

Lourenco was going so fast that he managed to set off a trap in a 60kph zone and now reports say police want to prosecute him without the option of a fine. But surely the speed limits don’t actually apply to something that doesn’t have a motor right?

Well, they don’t, but according to officials: “The speed limit is irrelevant. He is seen careering down the road in a reckless and dangerous manner.”

We’re just surprised/thankful he managed to stay upright. In case you’re wondering, the catchy tune is called ‘Sail’ by AWOLNATION.
